On April 20, Arianna performed as a finalist in the 2013 National U.S. Navy High School Concerto Competition, held at the historical Washington Navy Yard in DC, and WON!
“Each year, interested students submit high-quality audio recordings for consideration in the preliminary round. The recordings are evaluated and a select number of finalists are invited to the historic Sail Loft at the Washington Navy Yard to audition in person. All finalists are invited to perform a work side by side with the Concert Band, the top three students receive cash prizes and the grand prize winner performs as the featured soloist with the Concert Band.” This year, Arianna was selected as the grand prize winner! As the 2013 winner, she will also receive The Ambassador Middendorf Young Artist Award of $1000. She is scheduled to perform with The U.S. Navy Band on May 11, 2013 at 7:30 P.M. at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts 15200 Annapolis Road Bowie, MD 20715.
